WORDOC 2024 Girls’ Summit: Girls Inspiring Inclusion

IAS-UI’s Women’s Research and Documentation Centre (WORDOC) presents its 2024 Girls’ Summit on the theme ‘Girls Inspiring Inclusion’. The summit holds August 8., 2024.

The Girls’ Summit is a one-day programme designed for the purpose of bringing together young girls to deliberate on issues relating to gender equity, the empowerment of girls and women, and recognition of their roles in the development of society.

This year’s summit is devoted to raising awareness of the processes of inclusion across different spheres of societal engagement, from the micro to the macro levels of social formation. An inclusive society is one wherein girls and women take their rightful place at different levels in the economy, the political sphere, knowledge production, development work, advocacy and activism, etc.

WORDOC is organizing its 2024 Girls’ Summit to underline historical and ongoing efforts by which women and girls have taken lead roles in creating the platforms and institutions for inclusion.

Date is Thursday August 8, 2024; venue Lady Bank-Anthony Hall, IAS-UI; time 09:00-16:00 (Nigeria).
